Congratulations to Laurie Platt and Solar Flare on qualifying for the BLM Championship Suzin
Just wanted to let you know. Flare earned his first blue at a USDF show last weekend and is now qualified for BLMs. He scored 72% at training test 3 during the CDCTA Dressage at Morven Park show, Leesburg, VA, winning his class despite gale force winds and tents with pennets set up next to the rings.
We're counting down the days until Flare's little brother or sister is born.

Baltic Sunfire finishes 2nd place Tanya email with news: "There was less than 4 points between 1st and second place...Riley had a rail in stadium, so he ended up second by a tiny margin. BUT WOW, did he look great! Dressage test was the best yet. He got 8's on gaits, trot entry on center line, and free walk. The rest 6s and 7s. I think, with the jumping, that once the "green" is worn off...it will be a cake walk for him. He still is looky from time to time, which is why the rail today. Each time I see him out, it is leaps and bounds of improvement from the last time. It is mind blowing how quickly he is growing up." Tanya
Baltic Sunfire cross country at The Fork Patrick and Tanya Horning are thrilled with Riley and rider Amanda Miller. This is a classic example of the talent and versatility that the Baltic bloodlines have to offer for amateurs and professionals alike.
Baltic Sunfire at Southern Pines Horse Trials May 10/11th, 2007 Tanya Horning was excited and proud of her boy Riley. Biggest show Riley had been to. He showed his talent, it's all there. Tanya said all he needs is the mileage. Keep a watch for this one. He has the talent to go to Rolex Lexington KY . Congratulations to Tanya and Pat Horning, and rider Amanda Miller.
Ashley and Aurin Hello Suzin! Aurin competed in her first show since Duke, and has once proven herself again. She was reserve champion in the pre-greens. She placed first in the hack out of 11 and many of them had the pros on them. She placed 2nd in the jumping out of 13! I was pleased since today was sooooo cold and the schooling rings were frozen. Just thought I would let you know the good news.....Ashley January, 2007
Ferrari I forgot to tell you I received in the mail a huge purple/brown/green ribbon for sixth place in MacNairs Training division with Ferrari. I remembered today when I saw the placings listed in the NCDCTA newsletter. Not bad considering we went to three shows, but only did one test per show. Anne, 12/06
Baltic Surprise
Baltic Sunfire
Won his beginner novice class at TTC today. Amanda said he was much more "grown up" today about it all. She even met Riley's dam's owner...they loved him, watched him go. Must go and celebrate! Again!

Hello- Aurin competed at the Duke Children's Classic this week. She competed in the Carolina Hunter division and once again showed her stuff. The class entries were 17 and she placed 3rd,4th, and 5th. She was competing against all the pros and I know of at least two horses for sale in the high high $ amount. This was an A rated show and she did wonderfully for a 4 year old. Danny Robert shaw said whatever you are doing keep it up she will only get better and better. The next show is the Holiday Classic-two days after Christmas. I will keep you posted. Ashley News from Ashley Kerr and Baltic Aurin September 21, 2006 Hey Suzin- Aurin is 4. I will probably not be able to come to the inspection. I forgot to tell you Aurin tied for 1st out of 28, over fences last weekend at a show. It was a schooling show for a little practice before the state fair show Oct. 4th. You just don't know how many compliments that mare gets. She is such a breeze that everyone cannot believe she is only 4 years old. I was unable to get a PIC, since I went alone to the show. I promise I will email some pictures after the rated shows. ~ Ashley
Anne Perrotta and Ferrari compete at Buckhorn Farm, Sept. 9, 2006 Anne Perrotta and Ferrari competed September 9, 2006 Training Level 1 & 2. Anne received 69% and 61% earning 1st place and 5th place. Anne admitted that Ferrari had lots of exuberance in her canter transitions when she rode her second test. Anne didn't do to much warm up thinking Ferrari would be tired, she wasn't. The judge Cindy Sydnor was impressed with Anne and Ferrari and asked what the bloodlines where. When Anne mentioned L.A. Baltic Sundance Cindy was thrilled and shared with Anne she had ridden Sundance.
Congratulations to the Baltic competitors of the Raleigh Breed Show September, 2006
Gretchen Britt and Baltic Leap of Faith did their first breed show. This was Faith's first time off the farm, into a trailer, braided and into the indoor arena. What an experience for her. This was Gretchen's first experience at a breed show. Both Gretchen and Faith did very well. Gretchen was thrilled with the results. Faith was 5 place with a score of 69%. This was one of the biggest Raleigh Breed Show with people coming from all over. The competition was stiff.
Baltic Royal Flush (AKA Cassidy) Cassidy looked good and was full of herself at the breed show. As we all know yearling are at a tough stage. Last year Cassidy was champion. This year she did not place and Heather was disappointed as we all where. Past experience has taught us that this is only a moment in time and Cassidy will once again shine in the spot light. It's all there just waiting to blossom.
Reno strutted his stuff and place 5th among some of the top young weanling colts on the east cost. His score was 73% . Darryl and Allyson where thrilled with his performance and temperament. Darryl and Allyson worked hard in preparing for this breed show. They did a great job. Reno was relaxed and well trained and did his job well.

In her first class she placed 6th out of 10, then 5th out of 12, then 1st out of 11. She really got rolling. On Sunday, she went to her first dressage show at MacNairs’s. Baltic Aurin wins at 3 years old at her first show Hunter under saddle. Ashley Kerr was thrilled with her first show. Congratulations to all.
Ashley Kerr and Aurin, 2nd place MacNairs Hunter Show, March 2006. Hello Suzin-I thought I would give you an update on Aurin. She is such a special mare and is coming along beautifully. She did her second horse show at MacNairs Hunter Show since last fall and out of 15 or so horses placed second in the adult hunter under saddle. I personally think she should gave gotten first but we did our best. I will email you a picture. I had quite a few people ask me about her yesterday so props to the baltic breeding. Hope all is well ......Ashley Kerr (May, 2006) Hello Suzin- Good news! Aurin was just reserve champion in another horse show. I jumped her around and she placed 1st in one jumping and 1st under saddle. The judge came up to me to comment on how nice she is and what a good future she has as a hunter. I will send epics to you later .....Ashley Kerr Hello Suzin! Some info on Aurin for you. I have moved her to a different barn down the street, and she loves it. They have lush enormous pastures and an indoor arena. The second day she was there she was kind of restless and looking for some friends, and I had her loose in the indoor. Well, she jumped out of the indoor from a stand still over a 5ft 6in gate. I thought for sure she was injured, but not Aurin, only a superficial cut on her back right. She def is a bold and brave jumper and very willing, especially in the ring. George is coming to teach us today and then we are going to a big hunter show this weekend in Greensboro. Wish us luck ......Ashley (7/19/06) More news Rock star Aurin! Hey
Suzin- Well, another show of Aurin being the star and getting tons of
attention. She was a superstar. She competed in the Special Hunter division
with many others and lots of trainers. She had an audience watching
her, and commenting on her. She did some flying lead changes which is
a first for her. A professional Joy rode her in the jumping classes
to make sure she stayed straight. When she was done she goes, "You
have an incredible horse, her future is very bright". She got off
the trailer and just did her thing and was very sensible. I rode her
in the under saddle and she placed first. She will be going to the big
A shows in the fall at the hunt horse complex. Until then maybe one
or two C shows. Of course, I took zero epics because I was so busy, but
I will get some eventually. ~ Ashley (7/24/06) |
