Some Like It Hot will be Theatre Under The Stars' inaugural production in the new $100-million Hobby Center for the Performing Arts and will launch a 50-city U.S. tour with its Houston run June 6-23.

The revival of the musical based on Billy Wilder's 1959 film classic is the first of a six-show subscription series announced at a news conference at the Hobby on Tuesday, unveiling TUTS' 2002-2003 season.

Tony Curtis, one of the film's stars, will play millionaire Osgood Fielding (the Joe E. Brown film role). The lead roles of the two on-the-lam musicians and band singer Sugar have not been cast. Dan Siretta, whose choreography was seen on Broadway in Very Good Eddie, Whoopee and Oh, Kay!, will direct and choreograph.

Premiered on Broadway in 1972 as Sugar -- the title used for TUTS' two previous productions in 1976 and 1985 -- the musical is being revised by librettist Peter Stone. Its Jule Styne-Bob Merrill score will be mostly intact, with the addition of several songs written for, but not used in, the Broadway production.
